Role overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Engineer with strong Embedded C and HART protocol expertise to contribute to the architecture, design, development, and testing of HART communication solutions for industrial communication products. The role involves developing HART protocol stack features, device integration components, and Electronic Device Description (EDD) files, working in both bare-metal and RTOS environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to architecture, design, development, and testing of HART communication solutions.
- Develop and maintain HART protocol stack features and device integration components.
- Follow project coding standards, development processes, and best practices.
- Contribute to developer testing, verification, and technical documentation.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively within project teams.
Required Qualification
- B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, E&TC, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
Essential Skills
- Strong experience in Embedded C development for industrial communication products.
- Hands-on experience with HART protocol implementation and troubleshooting.
- Experience in Electronic Device Description (EDD) development and maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with HART testing kits.
- Good understanding of HART command sets, device variables, diagnostics, and device integration.
- Experience with HART Master and Slave/Field Device communication concepts.
- Knowledge of UART, SPI, I2C, and serial communication protocols.
- Experience in Bare-Metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS, ThreadX, etc.).
- Hands-on experience using debuggers, simulators, protocol analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Ability to analyze device specifications, communication requirements, and protocol documentation.
- Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
- Ability to read and understand hardware schematics.
- Proficient understanding of Git/SVN version control systems.
- Hands-on experience in embedded board bring-up, including initial hardware validation, boot/debug support, peripheral initialization, and hardware-software integration.
- Self-motivated, innovative, willing to pursue new technical areas, and capable of working independently.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of Modbus RTU/TCP protocols.
- Experience with scripting languages.
- Familiarity with BACnet protocol and industrial automation standards.
- Experience with secure boot, bootloaders, and secure firmware updates.
