Role overview
We are looking for a skilled Sr. Qt Developer to design, develop, and maintain cross-platform applications using the Qt framework. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in C++, Qt Widgets, Qt Quick/QML, and experience translating Figma designs into responsive and high-quality Qt-based user interfaces. The role also involves working with hardware and embedded teams, optimizing application performance, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and mentoring junior developers.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain cross-platform applications using Qt framework (Qt Widgets and/or Qt Quick/QML).
- Collaborate with project managers, UX designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Work closely with UI/UX teams and translate Figma designs into responsive and high-quality Qt-based user interfaces.
- Optimize application performance and ensure responsiveness across platforms (Windows, Linux, macOS).
- Implement and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and participate in code reviews.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Mentor junior developers and guide trainees on best practices in Qt development.
- Ensure compliance with coding standards and architectural guidelines.
- Work closely with hardware and embedded teams for integration when required.
- Continuously learn and improve skills to pursue new technical areas.
- Attention to detail is essential and all tasks must be carried out to the highest quality.
Mandatory Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in C++ (11/14/17) and object-oriented programming.
- Strong expertise in Qt framework, including Qt Widgets, Qt Quick/QML, and Signal-Slot mechanism.
- Experience working with Figma and translating UI/UX designs into Qt-based applications.
- Experience with multithreading, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with cross-platform development (Windows/Linux/macOS).
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
- Good knowledge of Windows System APIs and OS concepts like Events, Mutex, Semaphore, etc.
- Knowledge of networking protocols like TCP/IP, UDP, especially in application development.
- Hands-on experience in developing C/C++ applications for Linux/Windows using Qt Creator.
- Basic knowledge of debugging and strong problem-solving skills.
Added Advantage / Preferred Skills
- Experience with Qt Insights for application monitoring and analytics.
- Experience with Qt Squish for automated GUI testing is a plus.
- Knowledge of Qt Axivion for static code analysis and architecture validation is a plus.
- Experience or exposure to Yocto Linux is a plus.
- Knowledge of BACnet protocol and concepts is an added advantage.
- Experience with network/protocol sniffer tools like Wireshark is an added advantage.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English.
