  • Perform functional, electrical, and performance testing of PCBs, PCBAs, and integrated systems.
  • Conduct voltage variation, current consumption, power supply, thermal, and electrical stress testing.
  • Validate hardware interfaces such as CAN, RS-485, Ethernet, UART, SPI, I2C, and USB.
  • Perform hardware debugging, fault isolation, and root cause analysis.

2. EMC/EMI & Regulatory Compliance Testing

  • Plan, execute, and support EMC/EMI pre-compliance and certification testing activities.
  • Perform radiated and conducted emissions, radiated and conducted immunity, ESD, EFT/Burst, surge, and power disturbance testing.
  • Understand international EMC/EMI, electrical safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with applicable IEC, UL, CISPR, FCC, EN, IEEE, and other international compliance standards.
  • Analyze compliance failures and work with hardware design teams on corrective actions related to grounding, shielding, filtering, and PCB design.

3. Environmental & Reliability Testing

  • Prepare and execute environmental and reliability validation test plans.
  • Perform or coordinate environmental and reliability testing, including HALT, temperature and humidity testing, thermal cycling, thermal shock, salt mist/corrosion, vibration, mechanical shock, burn-in, and ingress protection (IP) testing.
  • Working knowledge of environmental and reliability testing standards, including IEC, MIL, ASTM, ISO, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Perform pre-test and post-test functional verification and document failures and observations.

4. Test Setup & Laboratory Coordination

  • Prepare test setups, fixtures, wiring arrangements, monitoring systems, and data logging configurations.
  • Operate laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, programmable DC power supplies, electronic loads, spectrum analyzers, and environmental chambers.
  • Coordinate with external testing and certification laboratories such as TÜV, UL, ARAI, and other accredited laboratories.
  • Ensure test sample readiness, laboratory scheduling, and execution as per project timelines.

5. Failure Analysis & Documentation

  • Investigate hardware failures observed during functional, compliance, and environmental testing.
  • Perform root cause analysis and collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct retesting to verify corrective actions and product performance.
  • Prepare hardware validation test plans, test procedures, compliance reports, failure analysis reports, and test execution summaries.
  • Maintain test logs, measurement records, and supporting documentation for customer and certification reviews.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of analog/digital electronics, electronic circuits, PCB/PCBA design, and embedded hardware systems.
  • Hands-on experience in hardware validation, debugging, and compliance testing.
  • Practical knowledge of EMC/EMI, ESD, surge, EFT, emissions, and immunity testing.
  • Experience in environmental and reliability testing methodologies.
  • Familiarity with international standards such as IEC, UL, CISPR, FCC, ASTM, ISO, and MIL.
